Wascana at Wascana Country Club

Wascana Country Club sits on the southern edge of Regina, where the Saskatchewan prairie meets Wascana Creek. Doug Carrick designed the course, which opened in the early 1990s as a relocation and replacement for the club's original facility. The routing takes advantage of the natural creek corridor and modest elevation changes uncommon in this part of the province, incorporating water features and mature tree plantings that have matured considerably since opening.

The layout reflects Carrick's approach to prairie golf design, working with the existing landforms and water to create strategic variety across eighteen holes. Several holes play along or across Wascana Creek, and the property's relatively sheltered character provides some protection from the persistent prairie winds that define golf in southern Saskatchewan. The course has hosted provincial amateur championships and serves as a regular venue for regional competitive golf.

Wascana Country Club functions as one of Regina's established private clubs, with a membership drawn largely from the city's professional and business community. The club maintains traditional country club amenities including dining facilities and social programming alongside its golf operations. The course conditions and maintenance standards reflect the club's commitment to year-round member use during Saskatchewan's limited golf season, typically running from late April through October depending on weather patterns.
