Vidanta Vallarta Course (Greg Norman)
MX

The Vidanta Vallarta Course sits within the expansive Vidanta resort complex along Mexico's Pacific coast in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, just north of Puerto Vallarta. Designed by Greg Norman and opened in the early 2010s, the course occupies relatively flat terrain characteristic of the coastal plain, with the layout incorporating water features, tropical vegetation, and views toward the Sierra Madre mountains inland and glimpses of Banderas Bay. The design reflects Norman's preference for strategic bunkering and risk-reward opportunities, adapted here to the resort setting and tropical climate. The routing works through the resort property with holes framed by palm trees, native vegetation, and landscaped areas that separate fairways from the surrounding development. Water comes into play on several holes, both as natural features and constructed lakes that add strategic interest to approach shots and create visual definition. The course serves primarily resort guests and members of the Vidanta club system, offering a championship-length layout that accommodates a range of skill levels while providing enough challenge for accomplished players. As part of a large-scale resort destination, the course integrates with Vidanta's broader amenities including hotels, restaurants, and recreational facilities. The setting provides a tropical golf experience distinct from the desert courses found elsewhere in Mexico, with the coastal climate and lush landscaping creating a different aesthetic and playing environment. The course represents one of several Norman designs in Mexico and contributes to the region's golf tourism infrastructure along the Riviera Nayarit.
Got the opportunity to play the Greg Norman course at Vidanta recently on vacation. First time playing a course that is a PGA tour stop. Course condition was superb, tight fairways and firm greens, green speeds were fast. Caddy was knowledge about the course and very helpful when reading greens, which I was playing on different grass than I’m used to. Views of the Sierra Madres are in the background on the majority of the course. As a non-resort member or guest, green fees are slightly unreasonable, definitely a better deal being with a member of the resort. Would happily play it again!
