Valley (East) at Mountain Creek Golf Resort and Residence

Mountain Creek Golf Resort and Residence is located in Nakhon Ratchasima province, roughly 200 kilometers northeast of Bangkok in Thailand's Isan region. The Valley East course was designed by Seve Ballesteros, the Spanish champion who turned to course architecture later in his career and completed several projects across Asia before his death in 2011. The resort setting takes advantage of the area's natural terrain, with the course routed through rolling countryside characteristic of this part of northeastern Thailand.

Ballesteros brought his competitive experience to the design work, typically favoring strategic bunkering and green complexes that reward thoughtful shot-making over pure length. His Asian projects often incorporated dramatic elevation changes and water features where the landscape allowed. The Valley East course shares the property with additional layouts, part of a larger residential and resort development that caters to both local golfers from Bangkok and international visitors.

The Nakhon Ratchasima region offers a different golfing experience than the coastal resort areas, with a drier climate for much of the year and a landscape that transitions between agricultural plains and forested hills. Courses in this area generally provide a quieter alternative to the busier golf centers near the capital, with the routing and design reflecting the natural movement of the land rather than extensive earthmoving.
