MARRIOTT'S DESERT SPRINGS RESORT
🇺🇸 Palm Desert, CA, USA
Designed by Ted Robinson Sr.

Valley, one of two championship courses at the Marriott's Desert Springs Resort, echoes the sun-drenched optimism of Palm Desert, a golfing oasis carved from the Coachella Valley. This relatively modern design, sculpted from the desert floor, offers a less severe playing experience than its sister course, favoring a more forgiving, resort-style game.
Designed by Ted McAnlis, the Valley course presents a stark contrast between emerald fairways and the rugged desert landscape. While not particularly narrow, it favors a strategic approach, demanding careful club selection to navigate the numerous water hazards and strategically placed bunkers that frame each hole. Generous landing areas off the tee provide opportunities for aggressive play, but wayward shots are quickly penalized by the unforgiving desert scrub.
The Valley course, while not a major tournament venue, holds its own charm within the resort setting. It remains a popular destination for golfers seeking a relaxed, yet challenging round in the heart of Palm Desert. Adding to the relaxed atmosphere, the club is known for its generous and friendly membership; where after a round, players often gather at the clubhouse to enjoy a well-earned meal.
Reviews
Good not great desert course. It’s fine and I don’t have any one negative thing to say other than it’s just not that memorable
