Valler/Mountain at Laem Chabang International Country Club

Laem Chabang International Country Club's Mountain Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, occupies rolling terrain in Chonburi Province along Thailand's eastern seaboard. The layout takes advantage of natural elevation changes uncommon in this coastal region, with the routing working through and around hillsides that give the course its name. Nicklaus incorporated his characteristic strategic bunkering and large, contoured greens that reward precise approach play while offering multiple pin positions for varied daily setups.

The course sits within a larger club complex that includes a second eighteen-hole layout, the Valley Course, also designed by Nicklaus. The Mountain routing features broader elevation shifts and more dramatic topography than its companion course, with several holes playing uphill or downhill and offering views across the surrounding landscape. Water hazards appear throughout, typical of Nicklaus designs in tropical settings, and the layout demands both length and accuracy from the championship tees.

Laem Chabang serves both local membership and international visitors, positioned near the industrial port city of the same name and within reasonable distance of Bangkok and Pattaya. The club operates as a private facility with guest access available through proper arrangements. The courses benefit from Thailand's year-round golf season, though the climate requires careful turf management during the hot and rainy months. The Mountain Course represents one of several Nicklaus designs in Thailand developed during the country's golf expansion in the 1990s and early 2000s.
