GOLF COURSE AT TUHAYE
🇺🇸 Kamas, UT, USA
Designed by Mark O'Meara

The Golf Course at Tuhaye sits in the Wasatch Mountains near Kamas, Utah, roughly thirty miles east of Park City. Designed by Mark O'Meara and opened in the mid-2000s, the course occupies rolling, forested terrain at elevation, where the mountain landscape shapes both the routing and playing experience. O'Meara, the 1998 Masters and Open Championship winner, brought a player's perspective to the design, creating a layout that works with the natural contours and stands of pine and aspen rather than imposing dramatic earthwork on the site.
The course plays through varied topography, with elevation changes that require thoughtful club selection and reward accurate placement. Fairways move through corridors of mature trees, and several holes offer views across the surrounding valleys and peaks. The design emphasizes strategic options rather than forced carries, allowing different routes depending on skill level and conditions. Greens are typically moderate in size with subtle internal movement, reflecting the natural character of the property.
Tuhaye functions as part of a private residential community in the Wasatch Back region, an area known for its outdoor recreation and proximity to both Park City's amenities and the Uinta Mountains. The club serves members and their guests in a mountain resort setting, where golf integrates with the broader lifestyle of the development. The course remains relatively quiet compared to the more publicized layouts closer to Park City proper, offering a secluded round in high-country surroundings.
Reviews
Tuhaye is an incredible mountain golf experience with a layout that combines strategy, elevation, and stunning scenery. Designed by Mark O’Meara, the course stretches nearly 7,800 yards from the tips and a little shorter from the ones in front where I played and at 7,000 feet of elevation, it makes for some massive drives but also plenty of demanding approach shots. The front nine eases you in with beautiful, playable holes overlooking Jordanelle Reservoir, while the back nine gets more challenging with dramatic ravines, risk-reward par 5s, and tricky greens that require precision. The conditions were excellent with firm fairways, smooth bent-grass greens, and awesome views from almost every hole. It’s challenging but fair, and the setting alone makes it a round to remember. I attached a picture of one of my favorite holes, a challenging risk-reward par 5 that with a good drive you can easily get home in 2 shots. There is also an awesome drivable par 4 over a pond that I thought was a really neat hole. Overall a great golf course and experience.
