Tudor Park occupies a gently rolling site in the Kent countryside near Bearsted, just east of Maidstone. Opened in the mid-1990s as part of a hotel and country club development, the course was designed by Donald Steel, the British architect known for his work on numerous parkland and heathland layouts across the United Kingdom. The routing takes advantage of the property's natural contours and mature woodland, with fairways carved through established trees and several holes offering views across the surrounding Weald of Kent.

The layout measures around 6,900 yards from the championship tees and presents a parkland character typical of Steel's approach: strategic bunkering, undulating greens, and an emphasis on positioning over pure length. Water features come into play on several holes, and the course's elevation changes—modest but meaningful—add variety to club selection and shot-making demands. The design accommodates both resort guests and club members, balancing accessibility for visitors with enough challenge to interest regular players.

As part of the Marriott hotel complex, Tudor Park functions primarily as a resort course, serving leisure travelers and corporate groups alongside local membership. The setting provides a relatively tranquil environment given its proximity to Maidstone and the M20 corridor, with the North Downs visible in the distance.
