TRYSTING TREE GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Corvallis, OR, USA
Designed by Ted Robinson Sr.

Trysting Tree Golf Club sits on the western edge of Corvallis in Oregon's Willamette Valley, designed by Ted Robinson Sr. and opened in 1988. The course takes its name from a Scottish tradition where lovers would meet beneath a designated tree, and a large oak near the clubhouse serves as the property's namesake landmark. Robinson, known for incorporating water features throughout his portfolio, brought that signature style to this layout, where several holes play along or across creeks and ponds that wind through the relatively flat valley terrain.
The routing makes strategic use of water on roughly half the holes, requiring golfers to navigate carries and shoreline approaches that define the course's challenge and character. Mature trees frame many fairways, and the property's setting offers views toward the surrounding hills and farmland typical of the mid-valley region. The course serves both public daily-fee play and a membership base, making it a central golf facility for the Corvallis area and Oregon State University community.
Trysting Tree has hosted various regional amateur events and collegiate tournaments over the years, benefiting from its accessibility and conditioning. The layout measures over 7,000 yards from the back tees, providing length for competitive play while offering multiple tee options for recreational rounds. The club maintains a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the university town setting, with a clubhouse that accommodates both casual golfers and organized group outings throughout the year.
Reviews
Public course and practice home of OSU Beavers. They have a turf grass program at Oregon State so this course is always in great shape if it’s not under water. Hard against the Willamette River the course does flood and that has led to some rerouting that leaves the course a bit disjointed. It’s a fun play nothing spectacular some nice views along the river.
