TRIPOLI COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Milwaukee, WI, USA
Designed by Tom Bendelow

Tripoli Country Club, tucked within the Milwaukee suburb of Brown Deer, stands as a testament to understated Midwestern golf. Its gently rolling terrain, sculpted in the early 1920s, offers a classic parkland experience, where tree-lined fairways reward strategic play more than raw power. Subtle elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers ask players to shape shots and think their way around the course.
Original architect, Alfred Tull, crafted a layout that has seen updates over the years, most notably by Ken Killian. Tripoli favors the player who can work the ball, its doglegs and well-guarded greens requiring a nuanced approach. Known throughout the region as a club for avid golfers, Tripoli plays host to a fiercely competitive member culture—particularly their famed annual stag tournament, a tradition spanning decades.
While it may not boast national championship credentials, Tripoli fosters a vibrant social atmosphere, where camaraderie is as valued as a well-struck iron shot. The club is also locally celebrated for its Friday night fish fry, a Wisconsin tradition embraced with enthusiasm by members and their guests alike.
Reviews
This is a great club, the locker room and clubhouse are a fantastic place to spend time. As for the course, some good greens and bunkering make up for an unaspiring routing and semi boring fairway and tee shots.
