TPC River's Bend, carved into the rolling landscape north of Cincinnati, offers a stern test shaped by the traditions of tournament golf. The course, a stout, modern design, rolls across a landscape favoring power, with subtly contoured fairways demanding precise approach shots into well-guarded greens. Doglegs right and left, and the occasional blind shot, keep even seasoned players on their toes.
Designed by Arthur Hills, TPC River's Bend has welcomed the game's elite, hosting the Kroger Senior Classic for many years. While not necessarily considered one of the nation's marquee courses, the club has, over the course of its history, quietly cultivated a reputation for both challenging golf and unpretentious hospitality.
More than just a well-conditioned course, River's Bend fosters a relaxed atmosphere. The membership, largely drawn from the surrounding business community, values the club for its convenient location and opportunity to enjoy a competitive round followed by convivial post-round gatherings. A simple but highly regarded Reuben sandwich in the clubhouse has become something of a local legend.
Reviews
This Arnold Palmer design is an absolute treat to play. The course is always in great shape, with rolling terrain, tight fairways, and water that comes into play just enough to keep you honest. It’s a tough test — especially if you find the thick rough — but it’s fair and fun the whole way around. The place has hosted both a Champions Tour event and, more recently, an LPGA tournament, and you can tell it’s built for championship golf. The facilities are top-notch — a big practice range, awesome short game area, and one of the better locker rooms I’ve been in. The outdoor patio by the clubhouse is a great spot to hang after the round too. Hole 7 was one of my favorites. It’s a short par 3 with a super narrow green that demands accuracy. Miss it even slightly and you’re scrambling to save par. I also really liked hole 9 — a strong par 4 that plays back toward the clubhouse with a big pond guarding the front of the green. It’s one of the more scenic shots of the day and a great way to close out the front nine. Overall, TPC River’s Bend feels like a big-time course from start to finish. It’s challenging, well-maintained, and one of the best all-around golf experiences in the area.
Was okay but there are better clubs in the area, pro shop not very friendly.
Belonged here as a kid and just recently got a chance to get back out. Nostalgia was hitting hard. As always super fun track. Back 9 lacks in comparison to the front imo.
