TPC Deere Run, carved into the rolling Iowa countryside near East Moline, is more than just the annual stage for the John Deere Classic; it's a testament to the accessible, yet subtly challenging, nature of modern course design. D.A. Weibring sculpted this layout, opening in 2000, across land previously tilled by John Deere himself, lending an immediate sense of legacy to the grounds.
The course unfurls across gently undulating terrain, avoiding dramatic elevation changes while subtly testing strategic thinking. Mature trees frame many fairways, demanding careful shot placement, while strategically placed bunkers and water hazards penalize overly aggressive play. While not overly long by modern standards, Deere Run favors players who can work the ball and control their distances, rewarding thoughtful approaches over brute power.
As the host of the John Deere Classic since 2000, TPC Deere Run has witnessed a string of memorable moments and emerging stars. More than a few players have earned their PGA Tour card with a victory on the course. TPC Deere Run remains a popular destination for golfers seeking a fair test in a welcoming environment. It is a great course to watch on tour.
Reviews
Played it day after the tournament… brutally fast greens… these guys are good.
Phenomenal shape, gettable when keeping in mind this is a tour stop. Worth the money, definitely worth playing
If they played the JDC in March this would be an awesome event. It’s almost in too good of condition in the summer to be hard. Tons of fun, less fun to talk. Highly recommend. Played in a college tournament here in March every year. 500 yard par 4’s in the snow aren’t the most fun, but playing in the summer it’s a whole different experience.
Wonderful course with great conditioning.
Stunning course overlooking the Rock River. Played the week before the John Deere Classic and made it difficult condition wise. A must play track if you are in the area.
Hole in one on #7
Playing right after the tournament is a 9.0 with the grandstands up. Any other time it’s an 8.5
Solid Course, but out of the TPCS I’ve played (so far) lacks a lot of meat and character.
Really great course. Fun to play where the pros play. Greens were lightning. Overall course conditions were fabulous.
Immaculate and difficult
