TOT HILL FARM GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Asheboro, NC, USA
Designed by Mike Strantz
Tot Hill Farm, carved from the rugged Uwharrie Mountain range near Asheboro, is a haven for golfers seeking a stern but beautiful test of their game. The Mike Strantz design is a modern interpretation of classic risk-reward layouts. Often referred to as "Strantz's Monster" it doesn't intimidate, but entices you to play aggressive lines across this challenging terrain.
The course favors players who can shape their shots, rewarding strategic positioning over brute power. Blind shots, dramatic elevation changes, and undulating greens demand creativity and a deft touch. The dramatic land is blanketed in flora and fauna offering an attractive yet daunting challenge.
Tot Hill Farm has hosted several North Carolina state amateur events, establishing itself as a proving ground for the region's top talent. While not widely known on a national scale, its unique design and demanding layout have earned it a loyal following among those seeking a true test of golf in a secluded setting.
Reviews
A wonderful golf experience that challenges even the most skilled golfer. Beautiful scenery. Wonderful conditions. A little crowded. Would definitely play here again. Awesome clubhouse. This course invites you to play the course *your* way. There seems to be multiple ways to achieve a good score in each hole but it’s about committing to the shot you most believe in. One of the most visually deceptive and appealing courses I’ve ever played. Enjoy!
Very uniquely designed course that allows for multiple ways to play a hole. Extremely hilly. Front 9 is elite. Back 9 is good but kinda packed into a smaller area.
Mike Strantz Bucket List Rocks or Boulders define the layout Really good Par 3’s 12 and 18 were a little tough for me 16,17 were great closing holes 9 was up up hill to finish the front 10 and 12 were risk reward 1 downhill for a great start Two Short 5 Pars on front 4 got a steep hill in front of green - It’s either on the back of green or could roll 80 yards back at you
Course is whacky and very hard. The layout is nothing like I’ve ever played and very Mike Strantz. All that being said it’s affordable and just a great time.
Michael Strantz cooked. Played when it was super foggy too which added to the vibe. Par 3s were the most memorable. Favorite hole was the 3rd or the 8th
Another fun Strantz track. Par threes really stand out. 9 is the only hole that feels forced, just is not a golf hole in any way. The other 17 are fun and memorable. BBQ sandwich is 100% the call at lunch.
Loved it, typical Stranz more room off the tee than it appears. Not a lot of room to miss around the greens multiple greens border boundary fences or hazards. Really fun memorable holes. Bargain for $125 with cart.
A wild ride, typical of Stranz. So many great holes, my favorites are 4,5,8,12,16,17, and 18. Haven’t played since the renovation
Charming and quirky as hell without being the overpriced Strantz course that Tobacco Road has become.
Tot Hill Farms is Tobacco Road on steroids. Mike Strantz let this one get wild. You have to fully buy in to it being just a weird round. I loved the track and it sure did trip you up at times, but that’s what you have to expect when you play a Strantz. The final 3 holes don’t really fit the rest of the course, but overall it’s fun and an experience you should make happen
