Tobago Plantations Golf & Country Club occupies a coastal setting in Lowlands on the southwestern end of Tobago, the smaller of Trinidad and Tobago's two main islands. Designed by Bob Hunt and Marcus Blackburn, the course opened in the early 2000s as part of a larger resort and residential development. The layout takes advantage of the island's tropical landscape and Caribbean coastline, incorporating ocean views and prevailing trade winds into the playing experience. The routing works across relatively gentle terrain with strategic use of water features, including lakes and natural drainage areas that come into play on several holes. Several holes play along or near the coastline, where wind direction and strength can significantly influence club selection and shot strategy. As the only 18-hole championship golf course in Tobago, the facility serves both resort guests and local members.
