Tidewater Course
North Myrtle Beach, SC, USA

Tidewater Golf Club, a testament to the early days of golf's expansion in the Carolinas, occupies a stunning stretch of the North Myrtle Beach coastline where the Intracoastal Waterway meets the Cherry Grove Inlet. The Gene Hamm design, while not demanding a place on any "must play" lists, provides a pleasant playing experience marked by subtle undulations and strategic bunkering. It's a course where risk-reward decisions, rather than brute power, often dictate the scorecard. Hamm's routing takes full advantage of the terrain, weaving through mature hardwoods and offering glimpses of the water on several holes. While not a links-style course, the coastal breezes and sandy soil lend it a certain seaside character. Expect doglegs that challenge shot-shaping skills and greens that reward thoughtful approaches. Though Tidewater hasn't hosted any major professional championships, its appeal lies in its accessibility and the camaraderie among its members. It is a popular location for local and regional tournaments. The club fosters a relaxed atmosphere, with a loyal membership known for its social gatherings and post-round revelry.

I know a lot of golfers enjoy the course, but not a fan of a hole with a long forced carry on the last hole. Long distance between holes Unorganized Parking Lot Bag Drop area seemed not very functional ability and starting holes across the street causes confusion
