THE SILVERLEAF GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Scottsdale, AZ, USA
Designed by Tom Weiskopf

The Silverleaf Golf Club, a testament to desert golf amidst the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, offers a strategic counterpoint to Scottsdale's prevalent target-style layouts. Designed in the early 2000s, the course by Dave Stockton Jr. and Mike Stone is reminiscent of the modern era with strategic bunkering and subtly contoured greens that emphasize approach angles and putting prowess. The course plays long, often favoring those who can move the ball both ways, demanding a calculated game rather than brute power given the desert carries and sensitive environmental areas.
While Silverleaf has yet to host a major championship, its challenging layout and meticulous conditioning attract a discerning membership. The club attracts a notable percentage of professional athletes and local business leaders who relish in the club's exclusivity and the opportunity to test their games on a course that rewards thoughtful play. While it may not contend for national recognition among architectural purists, the course stands as a prized golfing experience in the Southwest.
Silverleaf distinguishes itself with an understated elegance. The club is known for its commitment to providing a relaxed and sophisticated environment, with a culinary program that complements the golf experience. Post-round, members often gather on the patio to savor the acclaimed local fare, cementing a sense of community that sets Silverleaf apart in the competitive Scottsdale golf scene.
Reviews
Had an opportunity to play Silverleaf during waste management open week, was a shotgun start, my buddy and I were paired with 2 members husband and wife who were great. Assistant pro Kirk rode with us great guy who really added to the overall experience. Amenities were first class and the vibe was relaxed which made it even better!
Facilities and the atmosphere are second to none. The course is challenging but fair. Truly spectacular!
