GRAND NIAGARA GOLF CLUB
🇨🇦 Niagara Falls, Ontario, CA
Designed by Rees Jones

Grand Niagara is Rees Jones' defiant rebuttal to the notion that Canadian golf must always embrace the rugged and unforgiving. The modern design, carved into the flatlands near Niagara Falls, offers a gentler challenge than its more celebrated, naturally contoured cousins across the province.
Jones, known as the "Open Doctor" for his exacting U.S. Open course renovations, brought that same fastidious approach to Grand Niagara. Wide, undulating fairways encourage aggressive play off the tee, though strategic bunkering penalizes the truly wayward. The subtle, tiered greens demand careful approach shots and a deft touch with the putter, rewarding players who can manage the course’s ample length. While the terrain lacks dramatic elevation changes, Jones masterfully sculpted the landscape to create visual interest and strategic variety, offering a fair test for players of all skill levels.
While not a frequent host of major championships, Grand Niagara has quietly cultivated a loyal following among locals. It is perhaps most recognizable for its meticulous maintenance and the challenging, yet accessible experience it offers. The post-round experience is elevated by their local poutine dish, a favorite for members and public players alike.
