THE PARK WEST PALM
🇺🇸 West Palm Beach, FL, USA
Designed by Dirk Ziff, Gil Hanse, Jim Wagner
The Park at the Park West Palm, sculpted into the landscape of West Palm Beach, stands as a testament to accessible, enjoyable golf for all. Built in the mid-20th century, this South Florida course presents a classic parkland experience. Gentle undulations, mature trees lining fairways, and strategically placed water hazards define its character. The course doesn't intimidate with length, but rather rewards thoughtful shot placement, as players must navigate doglegs and deceptively contoured greens to score well.
While not designed by a marquee name, the layout reflects a pragmatic approach to golf course architecture, prioritizing playability over demanding challenge. Its focus makes it a popular destination for casual rounds, leagues, and those new to the game, allowing both seasoned players and beginners to test their short game.
The Park at the Park West Palm enjoys a loyal following within the local community, known for its relaxed atmosphere and commitment to fostering a welcoming environment. It’s the kind of place where you might hear more laughter than frustrated sighs, reflecting the club's emphasis on the simple joy of the game, and it's rumored their club championships have intense and loyal participation and fandom. While it may not grace the pages of national golf publications, it fills a crucial role by providing an affordable and accessible golf experience.
Reviews
Very fun golf course
Nearly impossible to describe the property. From the second you pull in you know this is a golfers paradise. Gil put undulation in the grass islands that separate the lots for Christ sake. Aside from the perfection of the course, Lit 9, Trackman range, and 18 hole pitting course; I couldn’t help but notice the sense of community in the common areas. As a visitor to the region I quickly picked up that this was the watering hole for local enthusiasts And their families
Fun golf course not too difficult. Don't lose any balls as its pretty wide open. Conditions are excellent and the food is very good. Definitely very pricey though for what it is.
Modern course with great vibes! Ask for Fred the caddie he was amazing! Course multiple drivable par 4 holes. Hard to lose a ball here off the tee. Great elevation changes. Easy walking course.
This is the best non-resort public golf experience in the country, what a place
Amazing public golf experience. Awesome and tough design. Very pure greens.
Love some Hanse! Great track and love the idea of a public with a solid caddy program. Really fun walk and super interesting. Would love to play it everyday.
As fun as public golf gets, and a very cool new project. The Park is worth the hype!
I absolutely loved this place. Every city needs a public course like The Park — one that gets everything right from start to finish. From the practice area to the food and beverage setup to the course itself, it’s dialed in and built for golfers who just love the game. The conditions were pure. The greens were smooth and rolling around a 10 or 11 — you can tell they could really crank them up if they wanted to. Off the tee it’s fairly straightforward, but the real test comes on the approach shots and around the greens. We played on a windy day, which definitely added some bite, but it made the round even more fun. I really enjoyed the back nine, especially the 15-16-17 stretch — such a great mix of strategy and scenery. And I’ve got to shout out hole 13 — the punch-bowl green is awesome. I actually holed out from the bunker for par there with the pin tucked on the right side — one of those shots you don’t forget. Overall, The Park nails it. Great design, great energy, and a perfect example of what modern public golf should feel like. Highly recommend.
Absolutely love the Park at West Palm. The course is in fantastic shape - everything from the tees, to fairways, to greens The vibe on property is amazing. They have a nice practice area, short game area, a par 3 short course, great food and drink at the bar. The proshop is visually nice, but not a lot of offerings in terms of merch. The parrot logo should be branded on a ton of merch It is a little pricey for a public course in Florida, but nothing else compares in the area!
