THE MEDALIST GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Hobe Sound, FL, USA
Designed by Bobby Weed, Greg Norman, Pete Dye
The Medalist, carved from the sandy soil and native scrub of Hobe Sound, is where champions test their mettle in relative seclusion. Pete Dye, with consultation from Greg Norman, sculpted this modern links-style course, a relentless examination of shot-making prowess.
The Medalist favors strategic play over brute force. Tight fairways lined with penalizing vegetation, deceptive doglegs, and subtly contoured greens demand a thoughtful approach, and will punish the careless. While its design presents a stern challenge, the course also offers moments of breathtaking beauty, with glimpses of the surrounding natural landscape.
Beyond the demanding layout, The Medalist fostered a community of serious golfers, most famously Tiger Woods, who once called the club home. While not a major championship venue, its challenging design and esteemed membership have cemented its place as a respected proving ground. The Medalist is not only a place for golf, but the heart and soul of golf purists.
