PGA NATIONAL RESORT
🇺🇸 Palm Beach Gardens, FL, USA
Designed by Karl Litten

The Champion course at PGA National Resort is a brute, annually testing the world's best at the Honda Classic. Designed to challenge from tee to green, its demanding layout has humbled even the most seasoned professionals.
This southeast Florida course, while not occupying the most dramatic terrain, utilizes its strategic bunkering, water hazards, and undulating greens to create a formidable test. The architect, George and Tom Fazio, crafted a classic Florida design that was later enhanced by Jack Nicklaus, injecting his signature boldness and exacting standards. Length is a factor, but accuracy trumps distance here, especially navigating the infamous "Bear Trap" – holes 15, 16, and 17 – a gauntlet that can make or break a round.
Beyond the demanding championship layout, a notable aspect of The Estates at PGA National is its strong sense of community among its members. While the club doesn't necessarily boast a historic pedigree, it cultivates a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, attracting a diverse mix of avid golfers who appreciate a challenging course coupled with a relaxed, unpretentious environment.
