THE DOMINION CLUB
🇺🇸 Glen Allen, VA, USA
Designed by Bill Love, Curtis Strange

The Dominion Club in Glen Allen, Virginia, opened in the mid-1990s as a private residential golf community in the Richmond metropolitan area. The course was designed by Curtis Strange, the two-time U.S. Open champion and Virginia native, in collaboration with Bill Love. Strange's playing experience and knowledge of Mid-Atlantic golf informed the design, which incorporates strategic elements suited to a range of skill levels while maintaining championship-length potential from the back tees.
The property occupies rolling terrain characteristic of Virginia's Piedmont region, with mature hardwoods framing fairways and elevation changes that add visual interest and strategic dimension to the routing. The layout features water hazards on several holes and makes use of the natural topography to create variety in shot requirements. Bunkering is positioned to reward accurate driving and approach play, while green complexes offer sufficient contour to test short game skills without becoming overly severe.
The Dominion functions as the centerpiece of a gated residential community, and the club offers traditional country club amenities including tennis, swimming, and dining facilities. The membership is drawn largely from the Richmond area's professional and business communities. The course has hosted regional amateur competitions and serves as a venue for collegiate and junior events, reflecting its role in Virginia golf. The club maintains a reputation for conditioning and member play rather than national tournament exposure.
