THE GOLF CLUB OF CAPE COD
🇺🇸 East Falmouth, MA, USA
Designed by Rees Jones

The Golf Club of Cape Cod, carved from the region’s sandy loam, delivers a unique inland links experience, a testament to the region's golfing diversity that is often only associated with ocean-adjacent courses. The course is nestled amongst the pitch pines of East Falmouth, Massachusetts. Architect Brian Silva's design, from the late 1980's, presents a tapestry of undulating fairways and strategically placed bunkers that require thoughtful course management rather than brute power. It's a thinking man’s course, where angles matter, and a well-placed fade can often unlock a scoring opportunity.
Silva shaped this challenging course which is more about strategy than length; a notable feature is its demanding set of par-3s, each requiring precise distance control and an understanding of the prevailing wind, which often swirls unpredictably through the pines. The club’s routing is often described as “deceptive,” as many tee shots present a different picture than the approach that awaits.
While not host to national championships, The Golf Club of Cape Cod is a fiercely proud bastion of the Cape Cod golf community. The club has a relatively small and intimate membership. The Golf Club of Cape Cod is known for being challenging and fun for players of all skill levels.
Reviews
Now called Sacconnesset Golf Club, this new millennium Rees Jones is an amazingly well laid out course, with fantastic bunkering. The Doctor had his way with this course and did not skip on anything. Miss left or right off most boxes and you will have a tough shot next. A difficult but very fun track to spin.
