THE CANYONS AT BLACKJACK RIDGE
🇺🇸 Sand Springs, OK, USA
Designed by Floyd Farley

The Canyons at Blackjack Ridge occupies rolling terrain in Sand Springs, a community on the western edge of the Tulsa metropolitan area. Floyd Farley designed the course, working with land that features elevation changes and natural ravines characteristic of the region's transition between prairie and the Osage Hills. The property's topography provides variety in hole presentation, with several holes playing across or along the canyon features that give the course its name.
The routing takes advantage of the site's natural movement, incorporating doglegs and elevation shifts that require thoughtful club selection and course management. Farley's design reflects principles common to Oklahoma golf architecture of its era, emphasizing playability for a range of skill levels while preserving strategic interest through green complexes and hazard placement. The course serves as the centerpiece of a residential community, with the layout integrated into the broader development.
Sand Springs sits in an area with a modest golf tradition, and The Canyons functions primarily as a daily-fee facility serving the greater Tulsa region. The course benefits from Oklahoma's relatively temperate climate, which allows for an extended playing season. The landscape includes native grasses and hardwood trees typical of northeastern Oklahoma, providing a setting that reflects the local environment without extensive artificial shaping.
Reviews
Fun course very hilly wouldn’t want to walk it. Some crazy holes that require lay ups. Conditioning is ok. Visually intimidating in spots. Fantastic views of the Tulsa skyline worth playing
