THE ARCHITECTS GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Phillipsburg, NJ, USA
Designed by Ron Whitten, Stephen Kay

Nestled in the rolling hills of western New Jersey, The Architects Golf Club stands as a testament to the enduring allure of classically inspired design. This modern course, conceived in the early 2000s, evokes the spirit of the Golden Age while boldly charting its own path.
The course presents a strategic challenge across gently undulating terrain. Generous fairways often belie subtly contoured greens, rewarding thoughtful approaches rather than brute force. While its length doesn't overpower, its design favors a player who can shape the ball and manage the ever-present breezes that sweep across the open landscape.
While not a venue steeped in championship history, The Architects has cultivated a dedicated membership drawn to its challenging layout and unpretentious atmosphere. The convivial spirit extends beyond the course, often centered around the club's popular grill room, renowned locally for its hearty post-round fare and friendly banter.
Reviews
Was such a cool course, well maintained and every hole pays homage to a certain golden age architect
Fun course, good value if you get it at the right time. Can be challenging for beginners. Fast greens for a public course. Great history and shows some of the best designs from golf’s most famous cultivators
Conditions have really wavered over the years. Sometimes it’s solid, other times it’s terrible. Concept for the course is cool, dedicating each hole to a famous designer and making it in his style. Layout is really unique, good mix of long and short.
If you’re on this app, this course is for you. It’s Tour 18 for architecture nerds. Wouldn’t play it everyday, but a cool idea. Great condition too
Pretty fun, awesome design and experience
Cool concept with each section emulating different architects, kinda pricey but worth playing
Played in 2024 & 2025. Love the concept of the holes paying homage to games great architects. Course was in much better shape last year This year the greens and tee boxes were so beat up. Had to fix multiple ball marks just to hit a putt, and the par 3 tee boxes (especially 6) were covered in divot holes or weeds. Their website has a write up of all the architects
Really fun course and kept in great shape. Gorgeous views as you're basically on the side of a mountain. Decent practice range as well.
