Thai at Thai Country Club

Thai Country Club, located in Pimpa in Chachoengsao province east of Bangkok, was designed by Denis Griffiths and opened in 1996. The course occupies relatively flat terrain characteristic of the central Thai plains, with water hazards and strategic bunkering providing the primary defensive elements. Griffiths, an Australian architect who designed several courses across Southeast Asia during the 1990s, created a layout that emphasizes accuracy over length, with water coming into play on numerous holes.

The course features generous fairways bordered by mature trees and ornamental plantings, with several holes routed around or across lakes and canals. The greens are typically elevated and well-protected by bunkers, requiring precise approach play in the humid conditions. The flat topography allows for good visibility and straightforward walking, though most play is conducted by cart given Thailand's tropical climate.

Thai Country Club has served as a venue on the Asian Tour and hosted professional events during the late 1990s and early 2000s, contributing to its reputation among Thailand's competitive golf facilities. The club maintains traditional Thai hospitality in its clubhouse operations, with dining that reflects both local cuisine and international offerings.
