TETHEROW GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Bend, OR, USA
Designed by David McLay Kidd
Tetherow, carved into the high desert landscape near Bend, Oregon, stands as a testament to the rugged beauty and demanding nature of links-style golf far from the coast. The course presents a stark contrast to the verdant fairways often associated with the Pacific Northwest.
Designed by David McLay Kidd, Tetherow embraces the natural undulations and native grasses of the terrain. The course is characterized by firm, fast fairways and strategic bunkering that rewards thoughtful shot-making and penalizes wayward drives. While not particularly known on the national stage, Tetherow provides a stern test for golfers of all skill levels with its challenging layout and ever-present wind.
Tetherow is known within the community for its commitment to sustainable practices, reflecting a broader ethos of environmental stewardship in the region. The club’s popular "Trailhead" restaurant, and its elevated patio views, has become a local favorite for both golfers and Bend residents seeking a casual atmosphere with a refined menu.
Reviews
Bend truly has some of the best golf and is overshadowed by Bandon on the coast. This is a DMK design (that’s his home course) and he really beats you to death although I had 6 birdies this day. Most people think it’s unfair and I think it’s perfect.
