TERRADYNE COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Andover, KS, USA
Designed by Donald Sechrest

Terradyne Country Club sits in Andover, a suburb southeast of Wichita in south-central Kansas. Designed by Donald Sechrest and opened in the late 1980s, the course was developed as part of a residential community on the gently rolling prairie landscape characteristic of the region. Sechrest, a Kansas-based architect who designed several courses across the Great Plains states during the 1980s and 1990s, worked with the natural terrain to create a layout that incorporates elevation changes modest by regional standards but significant enough to add strategic interest.
The routing takes advantage of native grasses and mature tree plantings that frame many holes, providing definition on a property where water features also come into play on several holes. The design reflects the era's emphasis on resort-style playability combined with challenge for better players, typical of upscale country club developments of the period. Fairways move across open ground with bunkers positioned to test approach angles, and the greens feature contouring that rewards accurate iron play.
Terradyne serves as a private club for the Andover community and the greater Wichita area, offering traditional country club amenities alongside the golf course. The facility has hosted regional amateur events and remains a fixture in the local golf scene, providing members with a course that balances the demands of championship-length play with the playability expected at a family-oriented club.
