TEAL BEND GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Sacramento, CA, USA
Designed by Brad Bell

Teal Bend Golf Club sits in the Sacramento area of California's Central Valley, designed by Brad Bell and opened in the late 1990s. Bell, a California-based architect known for working within the region's flat agricultural landscapes, routed the course across former farmland with minimal natural elevation change. The design relies on strategic bunkering, water features, and mounding to create definition and challenge on relatively level terrain typical of the Sacramento basin.
The course incorporates several lakes and ponds that come into play on multiple holes, reflecting the reclaimed wetland character common to developments in this part of the valley. Wide fairways accommodate various skill levels, while greenside bunkering and undulating putting surfaces provide the primary scoring tests. The layout follows a traditional out-and-back routing with holes framed by mature trees that have grown in since the course's establishment.
Teal Bend operates as a public facility serving the greater Sacramento golf market, offering accessible year-round play in the region's Mediterranean climate. The course fits within the category of daily-fee layouts built during California's golf expansion of the 1990s, designed to provide solid recreational golf without the dramatic landforms found in foothill or coastal sites. It represents straightforward parkland golf shaped by the constraints and opportunities of Central Valley topography.
Reviews
Good public course in Sacramento. Relatively flat but good conditions and interesting holes. One of my favorites when I lived there. Bring bug spray the mosquitos can be brutal
