Tangle Ridge at Tangle Ridge Golf Club

Tangle Ridge Golf Club opened in 1999 in Grand Prairie, Texas, designed by Jeff Brauer, a Dallas-based architect known for his work throughout the Southwest. The course occupies rolling terrain in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, taking advantage of natural elevation changes uncommon in much of North Texas. Brauer routed the layout to incorporate existing topography and mature trees, creating a parkland character with strategic bunkering and water features that come into play on several holes.

The course serves as a daily-fee facility and has been a venue for various regional amateur competitions. The design emphasizes playability for a range of skill levels while presenting risk-reward decisions, particularly on approach shots where green complexes feature contours and surrounding hazards. Several holes play along or across water, and the routing includes both open and tree-lined corridors that require different shot shapes and club selections.

Tangle Ridge operates within the competitive public golf market of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where it competes with numerous municipal and daily-fee options. The club offers standard amenities including practice facilities and a clubhouse with dining. The course has undergone periodic maintenance updates since opening to preserve playing conditions in the North Texas climate, where summer heat and occasional drought present ongoing turf management challenges.
