THE CLUB AT STRAWBERRY CREEK
🇺🇸 Kenosha, WI, USA
Designed by Rick Jacobson

The Club at Strawberry Creek occupies land in Kenosha, Wisconsin, along the western shore of Lake Michigan between Milwaukee and Chicago. Designed by Rick Jacobson, a Wisconsin-based architect known for his work throughout the upper Midwest, the course reflects the regional approach to golf design that emphasizes playability across varied skill levels while working with the natural terrain. Jacobson has designed or renovated numerous courses in Wisconsin and neighboring states, often incorporating native grasses and sustainable maintenance practices suited to the climate.
The routing at Strawberry Creek takes advantage of the property's natural features, including the creek for which the course is named. Courses in this part of Wisconsin typically encounter a mix of gently rolling terrain, stands of mature hardwoods, and wetland areas that come into play strategically. The design philosophy common to Jacobson's work tends toward creating multiple teeing grounds and generous fairway corridors, allowing recreational golfers to enjoy the course while still presenting strategic challenges through green complexes and hazard placement.
The club serves the Kenosha area as a semi-private facility, providing both member and public access depending on the season and day of the week. The setting offers views characteristic of southeastern Wisconsin golf, with open stretches that can be exposed to wind off the lake and wooded sections that provide definition and variety. The course fits within the tradition of accessible Midwest golf, designed to accommodate the region's relatively short playing season while maintaining conditioning standards that support year-round membership activity when weather permits.
Reviews
Very very solid course.
One of the more fun rounds I’ve played in a long time, and we were in 25+ mph winds all day. Links style design with well crafted fairways that get the ball running. Great set of short par 4s and longer par 3s over water. This is a track I would never get tired of playing.
Round of my life. I was so locked in I forgot to take in the surroundings. Awesome course that I’ve driven past 100 times. Huge shoutout to my host for a phenomenal day of golf. Wind was absolutely howling what a fun course.
Played in a tournament here where it rained 2 inches. Course held up so well it was unbelievable. Awesome practice facilities.
Love this course. Overall experience was phenomenal. Very underrated course in my opinion. When I was there my host said the greens weren’t as good as they normally are. I thought they were still awesome. Super fast! Bunkers were visually great, with white sand and then fescue grown in around them. A couple drivable par 4’s were nice. Can’t wait to go back again!
