Strandhill at Strandhill Golf Club

Strandhill Golf Club sits on the Sligo coast at the foot of Knocknarea mountain, occupying a dramatic stretch of linksland along the Atlantic. The course was designed by Eddie Hackett, the prolific Irish architect who shaped or reshaped dozens of courses across Ireland during the mid-to-late twentieth century. Hackett worked with natural terrain wherever possible, and at Strandhill the land provides classic duneland character with tumbling fairways, natural undulations, and views across Sligo Bay toward the Ox Mountains and Benbulben.

The routing moves through varied linksland, with holes playing along elevated dune ridges and through lower valleys where the wind can funnel unpredictably off the ocean.
