Storey Creek at Storey Creek Golf Club

Storey Creek Golf Club sits in Campbell River on the eastern shore of Vancouver Island, approximately 160 kilometers north of Nanaimo. Designed by Canadian architect Les Furber and opened in the mid-1990s, the course occupies forested terrain characteristic of the island's coastal Douglas fir ecosystem. The routing works through mature stands of evergreens with the Storey Creek waterway influencing several holes, creating natural hazards and defining playing corridors through the wooded landscape.

Furber, known for his work throughout British Columbia and Alberta, designed the layout to preserve much of the existing forest canopy while clearing strategic sight lines and playing areas. The topography features moderate elevation changes, and the design incorporates the creek as both a visual and strategic element on multiple holes. Fairways are typically framed by tall conifers, requiring accuracy from the tee and thoughtful course management around the water features.

The course serves the Campbell River community and visiting golfers exploring Vancouver Island's northern region. The area's temperate maritime climate allows for year-round play, though winter conditions can be wet. Storey Creek functions as a daily-fee facility accessible to the public, offering a woodland golf experience distinct from the more links-influenced or open designs found elsewhere on the island.
