STONE TREE GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Novato, CA, USA
Designed by Jim Summers, Sandy Tatum
StoneTree is a course defined by its North Bay setting and the singular vision of its designer. Carved into the rolling hills of Novato, this modern course unfolds across dramatic terrain that is both visually striking and strategically demanding.
Architect Homer Flint's design philosophy is evident throughout StoneTree. While not overly long, the course rewards strategic play, demanding thoughtful club selection and precise approaches. The undulating fairways and well-guarded greens, combined with the ever-present coastal winds, create a challenging but fair test for golfers of all skill levels. Locals note the course favors players who can hit a draw off the tee, navigating the subtle doglegs that define many of the holes.
StoneTree fosters a tight-knit community around the game. The club is known locally for its active men's and women's golf associations, as well as its popular "nine and dine" events. While not on the stage of national championship venues, the course is a regular host to regional amateur events, further cementing its place within the Northern California golfing landscape.
Reviews
I find it a little gimmicky with its up hill par 4 and tight track… but fun once or twice a year
