STEVENS PARK GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Dallas, TX, USA
Designed by John Colligan
Stevens Park whispers tales of North Texas golf history, a public course bearing witness to evolving Dallas. Situated in the rolling terrain of North Oak Cliff, the layout is a classic example of early 20th-century design sensibilities. Expect tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that reward strategic shot placement more than brute power. It favors a thoughtful, old-school approach to the game.
Ralph Plummer, a prominent Texas architect of the era, originally crafted the course. A later renovation by John Bredemus, known for his work across the Southwest, subtly updated Stevens Park while retaining its inherent charm.
While it hasn't hosted national championships, Stevens Park is deeply woven into the fabric of Dallas amateur golf. Local lore suggests many a handshake deal has been sealed on its fairways, and the course holds a special place in the hearts of generations of Dallas golfers who value its accessibility and unpretentious atmosphere.
Reviews
Nice views of Dallas skyline. Usually fun, not too challenging. Layout a bit wonky. Greens are hit and miss (mostly miss). Decent muni overall.
Some silly holes (3 especially), generally fun. Heard they lost the greens though
