STANTON RIDGE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Whitehouse Station, NJ, USA
Designed by Stephen Kay

Stanton Ridge Golf & Country Club occupies rolling terrain in Whitehouse Station, a rural area of Hunterdon County in northwestern New Jersey. Stephen Kay designed the course, which opened in the early 2000s as part of a residential community development. Kay, a New Jersey-based architect known for restoration work at classic Golden Age courses as well as new designs throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, routed the layout across farmland that features natural elevation changes and wooded corridors typical of the Raritan Valley countryside.
The course takes advantage of the property's topography, with holes moving through meadows and along ridgelines that provide views across the surrounding hills. The design incorporates traditional strategic elements—bunker placement that rewards positioning off the tee, green complexes with varied contours, and risk-reward opportunities on par fives. Several holes play along natural drainage corridors, while others climb or descend through the property's elevation shifts. The layout balances open, windswept holes with others framed by mature trees.
Stanton Ridge functions as a private club serving its residential community and members from the broader Hunterdon County area. The facility includes practice areas and a clubhouse that serves as a social center for the membership. The course represents Kay's approach to modern design that respects traditional playing values while accommodating contemporary expectations for conditioning and amenities.
Reviews
Great course with very challenging back nine. Scenery is not great due to houses and power lines
Home base. It’s a mid, but it’s my mid.
