ST. CROIX NATIONAL GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Somerset, WI, USA
Designed by Joel Goldstrand
St. Croix National Golf Club sits in Somerset, Wisconsin, a small town in the western part of the state near the Minnesota border and the St. Croix River valley. Designed by Joel Goldstrand and opened in the mid-1990s, the course occupies rolling terrain that reflects the glacial topography common to this region of the upper Midwest. The property features elevation changes and wooded corridors that frame many of the holes, creating a parkland character distinct from the flatter agricultural landscapes found elsewhere in western Wisconsin.
Goldstrand, a Minnesota-based architect, has designed numerous courses throughout the upper Midwest, and his work at St. Croix National incorporates natural land movement into the routing. The layout takes advantage of the site's contours, with several holes playing uphill or downhill and others moving through stands of mature hardwoods. Water features appear on multiple holes, adding strategic elements to both approach shots and tee shots. The course serves as the centerpiece of a residential community, though the routing maintains separation from housing on many holes.
St. Croix National operates as a semi-private facility, offering both membership and daily-fee access. The club provides a full range of amenities typical of modern golf communities in the region, including practice facilities and a clubhouse. Its location near the Twin Cities metro area makes it accessible to golfers from both Wisconsin and Minnesota, and the course has hosted regional amateur events over the years.

Great experience! Would love to play this one a lot and get better at some of the unconventional layouts
This is an absolute must play on my list in WI! Challenging in all the right ways. Lots of elevation changes. Good for long and short players! Great food and awesome staff!
