Sahalee's South/North combination, a brute carved from the towering evergreens of Sammamish, Washington, stands as a monument to Northwest golf, a stern test where power and precision are equally venerated. The original Ted Robinson design, massaged later by Rees Jones, reflects a late 1960s aesthetic—demanding length off the tee and favoring approaches that flirt with deep, penal rough framing subtly contoured greens. Sahalee attained legendary status by hosting the 1998 PGA Championship, where Vijay Singh tamed its demanding layout. Twelve years later, the Senior US Open returned to Sahalee, as well as the 2016 KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
