INDIAN CANYONS GOLF RESORT
🇺🇸 Palm Springs, CA, USA
Designed by Casey O'Callaghan

Nestled in the shadow of the San Jacinto Mountains, the South Course at Indian Canyons Golf Resort is a Palm Springs landmark, its history interwoven with the celebrity culture that defined the city's mid-century allure. Originally designed by William P. Bell, renowned for his work throughout Southern California, the course unfurls across a classic desert landscape punctuated by mature palm trees and strategic water features. The South Course has since been refreshed by Casey O’Callaghan, son of noted architect Gene Bates.
Known for its generous fairways and approachable layout, the South Course favors an aerial approach, rewarding bold play while demanding respect for the subtle undulations of its greens. While never a host to major championships, the course's accessibility has fostered a vibrant local membership drawn to its playability and stunning vistas.
Beyond the golf, Indian Canyons has always been a social hub for its active membership. From its early days hosting Hollywood icons to its current standing as a popular destination for snowbirds and year-round residents alike, South’s enduring appeal lies in its understated charm and its ability to connect people through the game. The 1960s clubhouse remains a time capsule of classic Palm Springs design.
