CRESTVIEW COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Wichita, KS, USA
Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr.

South at Crestview Country Club, east of Wichita, represents a classic, midwestern golfing experience steeped in local tradition. Built on gently rolling plains, the South course reflects a traditional parkland style, defined by tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and subtle elevation changes that challenge club members year-round. The emphasis here isn’t on overwhelming length, but rather on precise shot-making and course management – rewarding the thoughtful player who understands the nuances of the layout.
Designed by Randy Heckenkemper in the late 1980s, the course underwent a thoughtful renovation in 2015, overseen by Golf Design Unlimited. This renovation subtly modernized the playing surfaces and bunker complexes, ensuring that the course remains both playable and engaging for today’s golfer, while honoring its original design intent.
While not a national championship venue, Crestview South occupies a significant place in the local golfing landscape. The club’s membership reflects a broad cross-section of the Wichita community, united by their passion for the game and the camaraderie found within the club's walls. And if you happen to grab lunch at the turn, don't leave without ordering a plate of their house-made onion rings: a local favorite and a talking point for decades.
