SHAKER HILLS GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Harvard, MA, USA
Designed by Brian Silva

Shaker Hills, carved into the rolling landscape of Harvard, Massachusetts, whispers tales of New England golf ingenuity rather than echoing championship roars. Its design, a product of the late 20th century, presents a deceptively tranquil parkland experience.
The layout, conceived by Dr. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry, demands strategic thinking rather than brute force, with subtly contoured greens and tree-lined fairways that reward accuracy. Subtle doglegs and cunning bunker placement quietly penalize hubris. Although it favors players who can work the ball with a draw, a steady diet of fades will find plenty of landing spots.
While not a venue steeped in major tournament history, Shaker Hills' challenge and pristine conditioning have established it as a cherished local haven. The club fosters a convivial atmosphere among its members, perhaps best exemplified by the enduring tradition of the "Shaker Scramble," a member-guest event known as much for its spirited competition as its post-round camaraderie and New England culinary fare.
Reviews
Pretty well conditioned except for the bunkers. Layout is a bit wacky with a ton of elevation changes but overall fun. Butter Brook nearby is better value
