THE CLUB AT SHADOW LAKES
🇺🇸 Aliquippa, PA, USA
Designed by Ferdinand Garbin

Shadow Lakes is a private golf course located in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, a community in Beaver County northwest of Pittsburgh. The course was designed by Ferdinand Garbin, a regional architect who worked primarily in western Pennsylvania and neighboring states during the mid-to-late twentieth century. Garbin's designs typically emphasized playability for a range of skill levels while incorporating the natural terrain features common to the region's rolling topography.
The layout at Shadow Lakes takes its name from the water features that factor into the design, with several holes incorporating lakes and ponds as strategic elements. The property sits in an area characterized by the undulating landscape typical of western Pennsylvania, where elevation changes and wooded corridors often define hole corridors and create natural separation between fairways. Courses in this region generally feature tree-lined fairways with seasonal color changes that mark the transition through spring, summer, and fall.
The Club at Shadow Lakes serves as a private facility for its membership, offering golf as the primary amenity along with the customary clubhouse and practice facilities. As a regional private club in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, it functions within a competitive landscape that includes numerous established country clubs and daily-fee courses throughout Allegheny and Beaver counties. The course provides a traditional private club experience for members from the surrounding communities in western Pennsylvania.
Reviews
One of the best experiences I’ve had golfing in the area this year. Paid $30 for a really well maintained course, a challenging layout that asks for different shots but still makes you have fun, and an enjoyable atmosphere.
