SEA PALMS RESORT & CONFERENCE CENTER
🇺🇸 St. Simons Island, GA, USA
Designed by George Cobb

Sea Palms Resort on St. Simons Island features 27 holes of golf designed by George Cobb, the prolific mid-century architect whose work across the Southeast includes courses at resorts and private clubs throughout Georgia and the Carolinas. The layout is divided into three nine-hole loops that can be combined in different configurations, with the Front and Back nines forming one of the standard 18-hole rotations. Cobb's design dates to the resort's development in the 1960s, when St. Simons Island was emerging as a coastal destination along Georgia's Golden Isles.
The course occupies relatively flat terrain characteristic of the Georgia coast, with routing that incorporates marshland views and tidal creek crossings typical of Lowcountry golf. Live oaks draped with Spanish moss frame many holes, and the design reflects Cobb's straightforward approach to resort golf—playable for a range of abilities while requiring accurate iron play and course management around water hazards. The setting provides glimpses of the island's maritime environment without the dramatic elevation changes found in other regions.
Sea Palms serves as the golf amenity for the resort and conference center, offering accessible golf in a vacation setting. The course attracts resort guests, island visitors, and local players seeking a traditional Lowcountry layout. The facility includes practice areas and a clubhouse with dining options typical of resort operations on the Georgia coast.
Reviews
Sea Palms was a really fun track. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape. There is a mixture of challenging holes with tight tree lined tee shots, but if you can keep your ball in play you can definitely play well here.
