SASKATOON GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
🇨🇦 Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, CA
Designed by Graham Cooke, Ian Andrew, Mike Weir, Wayne Carleton

Saskatoon Golf & Country Club traces its origins to the early twentieth century and has evolved through contributions from multiple architects. Graham Cooke and Wayne Carleton shaped significant portions of the layout, with later refinements by Ian Andrew and professional golfer Mike Weir, who brought a player's perspective to the design work. The course occupies terrain characteristic of the Saskatchewan prairie landscape, where the South Saskatchewan River valley provides natural elevation changes and mature tree corridors that frame many holes.
The routing takes advantage of the property's topography, moving through wooded sections and more open areas that reflect the region's transitional geography between prairie and parkland. Holes play along ridgelines and down into lower ground, creating variety in both elevation and exposure. The design incorporates strategic bunkering and green complexes that reward thoughtful course management, with several holes offering risk-reward options off the tee.
As one of Saskatchewan's established private clubs, Saskatoon Golf & Country Club serves as a competitive venue for regional amateur events and has hosted provincial championships. The club maintains traditions common to Canadian prairie golf clubs, where the relatively short summer season concentrates member activity and fosters a close-knit community. The course conditions benefit from the region's long summer daylight hours, though wind is a frequent factor in play.
Reviews
Played when it was Co-host of the 2023 Canadian Amateur. An absolute joke that Golf Canada hosted it here. Nothing to it, in very bad shape and quirky in a bad way.
