Saguaro at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain

Saguaro, one of two courses at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain near Marana, Arizona, stakes its claim as the purist's desert test. Designed by Jack Nicklaus Jr. in the early 2000s, its desert target-style design features generously wide fairways lined with the region's iconic cacti and shrubbery and challenges golfers to navigate multiple forced carries over arroyos and desert washes.

The routing is not a traditional resort course with homes lining the fairways, instead, the course offers spectacular views in all directions and has a pleasing rhythm, never feeling repetitive. The layout encourages risk-reward play, where well-executed shots can be rewarded handsomely.

While Saguaro hasn't hosted any major professional events, its challenging layout and stunning desert scenery, alongside its sister course Tortolita, make it a popular destination for golfers visiting the area. The club maintains a strong local presence.
