ROYAL LINKS GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Las Vegas, NV, USA
Designed by Perry Dye

Royal Links Golf Club sits in the desert landscape of Las Vegas, designed by Perry Dye and opened in 1999. The course presents an unusual concept for American golf: each hole replicates a famous hole from a British Open venue, creating a composite tour through links golf history without leaving Nevada. The routing includes interpretations of holes from St Andrews, Royal Troon, Royal Birkdale, and other championship courses that have hosted the Open Championship.
The design incorporates elements meant to evoke links character—pot bunkers, gorse, rough grasses, and relatively firm playing surfaces—though the setting remains distinctly desert rather than coastal. The replicated holes include recognizable features: a version of the Road Hole from St Andrews, the Postage Stamp from Royal Troon, and other well-known par threes and strategic par fours from the Open rota. The course operates as a public facility, offering access to golfers visiting Las Vegas who want to experience interpretations of classic British holes in a single round.
Perry Dye, son of Pete Dye, worked to translate the strategic elements and visual characteristics of the original holes to the Las Vegas terrain. The concept appeals particularly to golfers familiar with British Open venues, though the experience necessarily differs from authentic links golf given the climate and underlying landscape. The course remains a distinctive option in the Las Vegas golf market, where desert target golf predominates.
Reviews
Cool idea take great holes in the British isles and recreate them in Vegas. Course was interesting no one confused their road home for the real road hole and the classic Vegas touch a faux castle for the clubhouse. Course is now closed and has houses built on it. RIP
