Reviews
The uniqueness of the clubhouse is the only reason this is ranked as high as it is. Royal American has one of if not the worst drainage systems I have ever seen, if it rains within a week of your tee time the course is going to be ruined.
My last round here was around 6 hours long. Like most of Ohio the land is incredibly flat and the routing does little to add life to it. Straight forward green complexes that lack much contouring or collection areas. The course has an artificial feel throughout and the routing feels forced at many places. While some danger with OB and water this is not a real test of golf in the slightest. The 18th hole might be the only decent hole on the property but by the time you reach it you are likely begging for the round to end. I cannot recommend this course unless you’re there for a scramble and can drink for 6 hours. Please recommend courses in Columbus as I have yet to find any that are even decent…
Absolute dog track but at least it’s cheap. The par 3 third hole is really the only highlight to this course
