RIVIERA CANCUN GOLF AND RESORTS
🇲🇽 Cancún, Quintana Roo, MX
Designed by Jack Nicklaus

Riviera Cancun Golf & Resorts, nestled in the heart of Kukulkan Supermanzana, plays as a gentle introduction to golf amidst the vibrant energy of Cancun. The course, designed in the modern era, unfolds across a relatively flat terrain dotted with native Yucatan flora and strategic water features that prioritize aesthetic appeal over brute difficulty. It favors a more forgiving style of play, offering ample fairways and accessible greens ideal for those new to the sport or seeking a leisurely round.
While not a championship venue, Riviera Cancun offers a unique experience steeped in local lore. It is said that the course design incorporated specific Mayan astronomical alignments, a detail that adds a layer of intrigue to each round. The golf course was designed by the Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus.
More than just a round of golf, Riviera Cancun provides an immersive experience that can highlight some of the traditions and beauty of the Yucatan Peninsula.
Reviews
A slight edge to this course over Iberostar, for all the dumb tourist reasons you’d think - it’s a bit more fun, a bit more leisurely, with the views a bit more what you’d want from a resort course. It’s definitely not in the same shape, in fact one hole was (and apparently always is) closed. But the layout is consistently entertaining, with the potential for really good or really bad depending on how you hit it (my front and back were night and day). Holes 4, 7 and 18 are especially fun.
