REDHAWK GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Nampa, ID, USA
Designed by Gene Bates

RedHawk Golf Course opened in 2000 as a daily-fee facility serving the Nampa area in Idaho's Treasure Valley, roughly fifteen miles west of Boise. Gene Bates designed the course on relatively flat terrain typical of the region, incorporating water features and strategic bunkering to define the layout. The property sits in high desert country where irrigation and landscaping create playing corridors through the native sagebrush landscape.
The routing makes use of several ponds and lakes that come into play on multiple holes, requiring golfers to manage both distance and accuracy off the tee. Bates positioned bunkers to frame landing areas and greens, creating visual definition on a site without significant natural elevation change. The course stretches to over 7,000 yards from the back tees while offering multiple forward options to accommodate different skill levels.
RedHawk operates as an accessible public course in a region where golf facilities serve both local residents and visitors exploring southwestern Idaho. The Treasure Valley's semi-arid climate allows for a lengthy playing season, though summer heat can be intense. The course has established itself as a straightforward test of golf in the Nampa-Boise corridor, where newer development courses have expanded playing options beyond the area's older municipal layouts.
Reviews
Second best course in Boise, excellent layout particularity the quarry holes. Fun yet challenging, another must play. Only negative is limited food service and details like carts and turf care could be better.
