Red Ledges Golf

Red Ledges sits in the Heber Valley of northern Utah, roughly fifteen miles southeast of Park City. Jack Nicklaus designed the course, which opened in the mid-2000s as the centerpiece of a private residential community. The property occupies elevated terrain with views across the valley toward the Wasatch and Uinta mountain ranges, and the routing takes advantage of natural elevation changes and rock outcroppings that give the course its name. The layout plays through a high-desert landscape characterized by native grasses, sagebrush, and stands of scrub oak, with red sandstone formations appearing along several holes. Nicklaus routed the course to incorporate these geological features into the playing corridors and hazard schemes, and the design emphasizes strategic options from the tee and around the greens. The course sits at an elevation above 5,500 feet, which affects both ball flight and turf conditions during the playing season. Red Ledges operates as a private club within a larger resort and real estate development. The membership includes both full-time residents and those with second homes in the area, drawn in part by proximity to Park City's ski resorts and recreational amenities. The club offers additional facilities typical of mountain resort communities, including a short course and practice areas designed to complement the main eighteen holes.
