WHITE HAWK COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Crown Point, IN, USA
Designed by Tim Nugent

Red Hawk at White Hawk Country Club is a Tim Nugent design located in Crown Point, Indiana, approximately 50 miles southeast of Chicago in the northwestern corner of the state. The course occupies rolling terrain characteristic of the glacially influenced landscape of Lake County, where natural elevation changes provide more movement than typically found in much of Indiana's flatter regions. Nugent, a Midwest-based architect, routed the layout to take advantage of these contours while incorporating wetlands and native grasses that frame many holes.
The course plays through a mix of open and wooded corridors, with several holes offering views across the surrounding farmland and residential areas that define this part of the Chicago metropolitan fringe. Water features come into play on multiple holes, and the bunkering style reflects contemporary design preferences with irregular shapes and natural sand exposures. The greens feature moderate to significant undulation, requiring careful approach play and thoughtful putting.
White Hawk Country Club serves the Crown Point community as a private facility with traditional club amenities including dining and event spaces. The club's location makes it accessible to golfers from both Indiana and Illinois, and it functions as a year-round gathering place for members when weather permits. The Red Hawk course represents the primary championship layout at the property, designed to challenge accomplished players while remaining playable for a range of skill levels.
