Red/Blue at North Shore Country Club

North Shore Country Club sits along Lake Michigan's western shore in Mequon, a suburb north of Milwaukee. The club was established in 1929, and its original course was designed by David Gill, a Chicago-based architect who worked primarily in the Midwest during the early twentieth century. Gill's routing takes advantage of the property's natural topography, which features rolling terrain and mature tree cover typical of southeastern Wisconsin's glacial landscape. The Red/Blue combination represents eighteen holes drawn from North Shore's traditional layout. The course measures around 6,800 yards from the championship tees and plays as a par 72. Several holes move along ridgelines or drop toward lower ground, creating changes in elevation that affect club selection and shot shape. The property's natural drainage patterns and stands of oak, maple, and ash frame many holes and define playing corridors.
